Collaboration Agreement with FSI Training to Promote Education and Research in Elite Football

Sevilla FC has reached a strategic agreement with FSI Training, a company specialized in professional football education and development. This alliance holds a special significance for the club, as Bernardo Requena, CEO of FSI Training, served as the first team’s fitness coach during the 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 seasons, closing nearly two decades later a circle of collaboration between the two institutions.

The agreement has an initial duration of one year, with the possibility of renewal, and represents a solid step toward generating value for both FSI Training students and Sevilla FC professionals.

Opportunities for FSI Training Students

Thanks to this agreement, students enrolled in FSI Training’s Professional Football Master’s programs will have the opportunity to undertake internships at Sevilla FC, gaining direct experience in a club recognized in LaLiga and European football.

In addition, Sevilla FC joins FSI Training’s network of partner clubs, allowing the club to post job offers through the platform and access specialized profiles from FSI’s international community of students and professionals.

Collaboration in Research with FSI Lab

The alliance also includes Sevilla FC’s participation in FSI Lab projects, FSI Training’s scientific laboratory, aimed at developing applied research in high-performance football.

Led by internationally recognized sports scientist Fabio Nakamura, FSI Lab will allow Sevilla FC to join ongoing research lines or develop new initiatives alongside the FSI team.

The agreement also covers collaboration in the continuous education of Sevilla FC’s coaching staff. Through FSI Training programs, club professionals will have the opportunity to develop in an academic and scientific environment of excellence.

An Expanding Global Network

With this alliance, Sevilla FC joins more than 40 elite clubs that already collaborate with FSI Training worldwide. In doing so, the club strengthens its mission to connect education, practice, and applied scientific research in professional football, providing value to both students and partner clubs.

Sevilla FC Strengthens Its Innovation Strategy in Asia

Sevilla FC has taken another step forward in its international expansion strategy, which is built on innovation, applied knowledge, and the transfer of high-performance methodologies. In recent weeks, the club has bolstered its presence in Asia through two key initiatives: the signing of a collaboration agreement with the Chinese city of Shijiazhuang and the delivery of technical seminars to members of Japan’s J-League.

Following an institutional visit to the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium, led by Shijiazhuang’s Vice Mayor, Li Ruifeng, Sevilla FC formalized a strategic alliance with the municipal government of this city of nearly 11 million people. Promoted by the Chinese Cultural Center of Seville, the agreement will allow the club’s expertise to be applied to areas such as youth development, coach education, academy design, and talent management, all adapted to the local context and supported by top-tier European institutions.

Beyond the sporting dimension, this partnership highlights Sevilla FC’s role as a knowledge generator within the global football industry. Through the Sevilla FC Innovation Center, the club facilitates methodological transfer, turning its experience into a valuable asset for emerging ecosystems like Shijiazhuang, which is currently transforming into a modern and sustainable sports hub.

Simultaneously, the club’s Innovation Department continues to expand its influence across Asia. Most recently, two specialized seminars were delivered to J-League professionals: Jesús Olivera focused on player tracking through data analysis, while Daniel del Valle explored tactical evaluation through identifying strengths and weaknesses in match planning.

These initiatives are part of Sevilla FC’s global approach to football innovation. For years, the club has shared its model with international organizations through training programs aimed at coaches, professional players, executives, and performance specialists. A strategy that consolidates Sevilla FC’s position as a methodological reference in the evolution of global football.

Closing Ceremony of the Master’s Programs in Big Data and Innovation

This week marked the closing of new graduating classes from two master’s programs sponsored and co-organized by the Sevilla FC Innovation Center: the Master in Big Data Applied to Scouting and the Master in Innovation and Technology in Sports Entities. The Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium hosted in-person sessions for both courses, as well as a heartfelt ceremony during which the club’s innovation center, together with Sports Data Campus, presented the official diplomas to the students.

José María Cruz Gallardo, Head of R&D in Football at Sevilla FC; David Sáez, CEO of Sports Data Campus; and Miguel Ángel del Barrio, Director of Programs at the same institution, led the final talks in the stadium’s Glasgow Room. These sessions featured contributions from Sevilla FC staff, among others, under the watchful eye of the club’s new Director of Football, Antonio Cordón. The official closing ceremony then took place in the stadium’s VIP area.

The Master in Big Data Applied to Football Scouting has now completed its eighth edition. This long-standing program, co-sponsored by Sports Data Campus, Sevilla FC, and the Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM), has firmly established itself as one of the top courses for becoming an expert in identifying and analyzing football talent. Enrollment is already open for the ninth edition, which will begin this coming November.

More recent is the Master in Innovation and Technology in Sports Entities, which has been well received in its first two editions. Students have been trained in two of the key drivers of transformation in sports organizations: optimizing operations and creating new ways to engage fans and anticipate new revenue opportunities. All of this has been made possible through essential training in tools such as data analytics, artificial intelligence, and automation.

Sevilla FC creates an international team

Sevilla FC will have from this season a new team integrating its competitive structure. It will be a squad with a marked international character that will start competing in the Tercera Andaluza and will be formed mostly by foreign players over 18 years of age, in accordance with FIFA regulations. This is a project not only of a sporting nature, but also of international strategic development, through which foreign players will be given a place, regardless of their potential on the field of play, to help the club grow in different markets of interest.

This is a new pillar of the internationalization of sports at Sevilla FC and will be coordinated by the club’s Innovation Center, a platform that brings together the entire innovation proposal that Sevilla FC offers to the world of sport, as a result of the promotion and development of R+D+i projects that make it possible to respond to new trends and consumer demands in the sector. The new international team will have the normal and customary treatment of the rest of the youth teams, with its own coaching staff, analysis, physical preparation, media coverage and medical service, and the facilities of the sports city at its disposal. In this first season of life it will not be a 100% foreign team for operational reasons, an objective that will be achieved progressively in the coming seasons. In order to finalize the formation of the team, a trial period will be held during the first week of August, which is open to all U-19 players of foreign nationality who are interested in forming part of this innovative project under the Sevilla FC brand.

The team will be coached this season by Óscar Olomo, a coach with extensive experience in the club’s Femenino B, along with his assistant coach Antonio González, a former canterano of the club who also comes from the Femenino B team.
