El Español and Disruptores e Innovadores have nominated Sevilla FC for the Best Digitization Project award

Sevilla Fútbol Club has been nominated for the Disruptores Innovation Awards 2024, presented on October 10 by El Español and its technology portal, Disruptores e Innovadores. The club is competing for the award in the category of Best Digitization Project in a Medium-Sized Company due to the launch of the Scout Advisor tool, which the club developed together with IBM.

In its nomination, El Español highlights that this tool uses “generative artificial intelligence with the goal of assisting scouts in their work” and notes that it automates “the process of extracting information from various reports” and “simplifies the search and analysis of players by processing qualitative and quantitative data, reducing the time needed to find suitable talents from hours to minutes.”

Sevilla FC has been nominated by the Disruptores editorial team at El Español, along with 50 other companies that have been featured in stories about technological innovation published over the last 12 months. The article about Scout Advisor and Sevilla FC’s commitment to technology was published on January 23 and will now be edited in print in the prestigious yearbook “The Top 50 Disruptors”.

This nomination marks a new milestone and recognition of Sevilla FC’s commitment to developing its own technological tools to improve the club’s daily operations. Notably, the launch of Scout Advisor had a huge media impact worldwide, leading to the club being invited as a success story at various forums.

The Danish Olympic Committee participated in a working meeting on technology with Sevilla FC

Sevilla Football Club, through its Innovation Center, continues to promote the dissemination of its knowledge and its educational offerings on the use of technology applied to sports. In this regard, the club received a visit at the José Ramón Cisneros Palacios Sports City from various members of the Danish Olympic Committee for a training session on how the club applies its proprietary technological tools specifically in the sporting arena.

The Vice President of the Danish Olympic Committee, Frans Hammer, highly praised the experience and also highlighted the quality of the club’s facilities: “It has been an incredible experience to come here. First of all, the sports and training facilities, and of course, also all the effort they put into innovation and the way they work with an open-minded approach, inviting external people, not as a competitor in the football industry, but more like an Olympic Committee. It inspired us a lot to take some of the things they are working on to a different level in all sports, with the combination of using special data for performance and more.”

“We are quite impressed with what we’ve heard. Sevilla FC is ahead of many other clubs. And, it seems they are also approaching new technologies, developing their own tools, but even better, they are also collaborating with startups to grow. That’s why I think we could collaborate in the future, because, yes, Scandinavia has a lot of technological potential that could also be very beneficial,” added Niels Henrik, a member of the Danish Olympic Committee’s Innovation Lab.

The delegation was accompanied by the LALIGA delegate in Nordic countries, Juan Fuentes, who highlighted the prestige that Sevilla FC enjoys in this region: “There is a view that Sevilla FC is a great club. It’s a historic club. There is no other club that has won the Europa League seven times. So it is in the minds of all European football, not just in Scandinavia.”

The 24-25 season kicks off at the Antonio Puerta Football School



The Antonio Puerta Football School experienced one of its stellar events of the season yesterday, the inauguration ceremony for the new school year at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán stadium. Hundreds of children gathered at Sevilla FC’s stadium to kick off a season filled with excitement, football, Sevillista values, and fun. The event was attended by Sevilla FC president José María del Nido Carrasco, players Juanlu, Agoumé, and Pedro Ortiz, as well as female players Esther Sullastres, Diana Gomes, and Pamela González. Numerous fun activities were organized for the students, along with a simple public presentation for the parents where the school’s operation was explained.

“We are entering the 16th year of the school that bears the name of our eternal number 16. A number that tells us very different things. As always, and above all, this school is the best possible tribute to our Antonio Puerta. At Sevilla FC, we remember him and keep him in our hearts every day, but I believe that through his name in this school, with his name on the lips of all these boys and girls, it is one of the most cherished things for Antonio, who I’m sure is watching you all with enthusiasm and pride. The second meaning of 16 is that these 16 years of this beautiful project mean it is more alive than ever, instilling wonderful values in our children: equality, fraternity, teamwork, education, and sport. You need to play sports and have fun, but also study and educate yourselves, because education will give you the freedom to choose,” the president told the students.

The event featured a mini football fair before and after the ceremony, with the main novelty being a magician’s performance, and as last year, a freestyle football show. El Sevilla FC principal protagonista en el WFS 2024

El Sevilla FC ha cumplido una edición más con su cita con el World Football Summit, uno de los congresos más importantes de la industria del fútbol. El evento tuvo de nuevo como sede europea a la capital de Andalucía y, como no podía ser de otra forma, el Sevilla FC tuvo un protagonismo destacado como principal referencia deportiva del sur de España.

Durante las dos jornadas del WFS 2024 el Sevilla FC expuso su compromiso con el deporte femenino, tanto con el protagonismo en FIBES de Eva Llamas, jugadora del Sevilla FC Femenino, como con la visita de Amparo Gutiérrez, directora de Fútbol Femenino, y la también futbolista del primer equipo Débora García al Polígono Sur para un acto de ayuda a las mujeres en el deporte. También lució el club su compromiso con la inclusión social, llevando a FIBES a una representación del Sevilla FC Genuine y al consejero Luis Castro, para asistir a la ponencia de la ministra de Inclusión, Seguridad Social y Migración, Elma Sáiz.

En lo puramente deportivo, el protagonismo principal fue para el presidente José María del Nido Carrasco, el capitán del primer equipo Jesús Navas y uno de los canteranos más pujantes, Juanlu Sánchez. Los dos jugadores fueron entrevistados en el escenario principal para hablar del prestigio de una cantera como la sevillista, bajo el lema ‘Sevilla FC, cuna de campeones’. Navas, además, disfrutó de una visita por un espacio que la organización le dedicó a toda su fabulosa trayectoria. The American Aiden Webb will be part of Sevilla FC ‘D’

Sevilla FC D, the international team of Sevilla Football Club, adds a new player to its ranks from the United States. The team now has a new international representative with the incorporation of Aiden Webb. The player, born in Texas, is already training under the direction of Óscar Olomo and his coaching staff to prepare for the start of the Tercera Andaluza season at the end of September.

Webb, 19, describes himself as a winger with “pace, dynamic and skillful” and has expressed his satisfaction with his first experiences training with his new teammates at the Ciudad Deportiva José Ramón Cisneros Palacios facilities: “It’s been a lot of fun, and I’ve learned a lot in the short time I’ve been here. Sevilla FC launches NFC season tickets

Sevilla FC, together with LaLiga, has implemented NFC (Near Field Communication) technology in the season tickets for the 2024/25 season. The club, which has already made the season ticket available to subscribers in digital format via a QR code, will now also have a wireless season ticket (NFC), allowing fans to enter the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán much more fluidly. Thus, by simply bringing the electronic device close to the wireless scanner located at the turnstiles, season ticket holders will be able to enter the Sevilla stadium more easily. All of this is part of a continuous improvement of the club’s services to help spectators.

NFC passes will be available on both iOS devices (the Wallet app on your iPhone or Apple Watch) and Android (the Google Wallet app on your Android phone or Smartwatch). The digital ID cards will also continue to work with the usual QR code on those electronic devices where NFC is not available. It should also be noted that the physical, NFC and QR cards will not be incompatible, highlighting that once the physical season ticket has been scanned, the digital one will no longer allow admission, and vice versa.

Season ticket holders will receive an email from [email protected] through which they will be able to download their season ticket for the 2024/25 season.

The NFC season ticket is an example of the commitment to technology that Sevilla FC has been making over the last three years to facilitate the management of the club in all areas and to continue the success achieved in previous seasons in various innovation and technology projects.

Sevilla FC Coaches Academy hosts Ahod Alamari, coach of the Saudi National Team

The Coaches Academy managed by the Sevilla FC Innovation Center welcomed Ahod Alamari, assistant coach of the Saudi Arabian national team, on Tuesday. The visit was in response to the collaboration agreement that the club has with the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, which will see the coach work alongside the Sevilla FC Femenino coaching staff for the next six weeks.

At the academy, Alamari will be able to soak up the training methodology applied by Sevilla FC at all levels, as she will also work with the reserve team and the U-19, U-17 and U-15 teams. Sevilla FC has implemented a work formula in all its teams based on technological innovation and a work methodology that many clubs and federations are trying to apply, as in this case the Saudi Arabian federation.

In addition, Alamari will be one more member of the coaching staff of the women’s first team in the first official matches that David Losada’s charges will play in September. On Tuesday, the entire coaching staff and the squad received the Saudi Arabian at the Ciudad Deportiva, just before the start of the training session in which Alamari was able to participate as one of the players.

VII edition of the Master in Big Data applied to Scouting of Sevilla FC Innovation Center

The Sevilla FC Innovation Center, together with the Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM) and the Sports Data Campus, co-organizes one of the most renowned courses in the field of data analysis in soccer: the Master in Big Data applied to Scouting in soccer. A course in Spanish and online format that allows students to improve their professional training in this field and that celebrates its VII edition. So far more than 450 students have passed through this master, which trains the scouts of the future in the use of digital tools to optimize their work process. It is, therefore, a development of the scout’s professional profile that enables him to remain relevant in the market. The master’s degree has been designed to provide students with the necessary knowledge to play a leading role in ‘Data Driven’ sports management. The training seeks to update and improve the professional profile of the scout, sports directors, coaches and analysts, ensuring that they are prepared to face the challenges and take advantage of the opportunities presented by the digital era in the field of sports.

During the six previous editions, students have had the opportunity to carry out internships in the Data and Analysis departments of Sevilla FC, access internships and job opportunities in other clubs and develop extremely interesting final projects. Teachers such as the current sporting director of Sevilla FC, Víctor Orta, or the sporting director of Aston Villa FC and ex-Sevillista, Ramón Rodríguez Verdejo ‘Monchi’, among others, participated in the course.

This qualitative leap is achieved through natural language searches, significantly reducing the time technicians used to extract all the value from the database.

The appearance of Scout Advisor has had a worldwide repercussion, which has made Sevilla FC and its commitment to technological development receive the attention of general and technological media all over the planet. This tool has accumulated prominence in more than 1200 media worldwide, with a potential audience of more than 2 billion readers. It has also been presented at conventions around the world, attending summits in the United States, India, Brazil and Saudi Arabia, among others.

Scout Advisor is just a sample of the tools that Sevilla FC has been developing over the last three years to facilitate the management of the club in all areas and is a continuation of the success achieved last season with the launch of Transfer Tracker, the first technological solution marketed by a Spanish club together with LALIGA.

The “Sevilla FC Goalkeeping Academy” is born, a new project under the auspices of the Innovation Center

The Sevilla FC Innovation Center continues to expand its training offer and has created a new project called ‘Sevilla FC Goalkeeping Academy’, an activity that will meet the need to provide technical, tactical, physical and psychological training to soccer goalkeepers. The training will be given by club technicians at the Ciudad Deportiva with the collaboration of the R+D+i Department, as well as other specific activities for coaches, players, business managers, medical staff and other soccer professionals.

This project was created as a technical-actification school for goalkeepers that will be based on the methodology that Sevilla FC uses in all its lower levels. It will be focused on categories from pre-benjamin to senior and will be open to individuals as well as clubs, schools and semi-professionals.

Through the ‘Sevilla FC Goalkeeping Academy’ the goalkeeper will be developed in all facets, both sporting (improving his performance and quality) and personal (improving his ability to concentrate and commitment to the club). In addition, the technical-tactical aspects of the goalkeeper will be worked on both individually and as part of a team, so that he can also develop in his collective facet, which is necessary to carry out his work within the group itself.

Sevilla FC creates an international team

Sevilla FC will have from this season a new team integrating its competitive structure. It will be a squad with a marked international character that will start competing in the Tercera Andaluza and will be formed mostly by foreign players over 18 years of age, in accordance with FIFA regulations. This is a project not only of a sporting nature, but also of international strategic development, through which foreign players will be given a place, regardless of their potential on the field of play, to help the club grow in different markets of interest.

This is a new pillar of the internationalization of sports at Sevilla FC and will be coordinated by the club’s Innovation Center, a platform that brings together the entire innovation proposal that Sevilla FC offers to the world of sport, as a result of the promotion and development of R+D+i projects that make it possible to respond to new trends and consumer demands in the sector. The new international team will have the normal and customary treatment of the rest of the youth teams, with its own coaching staff, analysis, physical preparation, media coverage and medical service, and the facilities of the sports city at its disposal. In this first season of life it will not be a 100% foreign team for operational reasons, an objective that will be achieved progressively in the coming seasons. In order to finalize the formation of the team, a trial period will be held during the first week of August, which is open to all U-19 players of foreign nationality who are interested in forming part of this innovative project under the Sevilla FC brand.

The team will be coached this season by Óscar Olomo, a coach with extensive experience in the club’s Femenino B, along with his assistant coach Antonio González, a former canterano of the club who also comes from the Femenino B team.
