The Manuel Blasco Garzón Award pays tribute to the memory of the former president of Sevilla FC, under whose tenure the entity achieved significant sporting successes and remarkable social and institutional advances. Additionally, he was instrumental in integrating a young man named to script the best pages in the club’s history: Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán. Blasco Garzón was a prominent figure in the social and cultural life of Seville, serving, among other positions, as president of the Ateneo de Sevilla and promoting projects aimed at enhancing cultural levels in neighborhoods and contributing to citizen education, thus aiding in the fight against illiteracy.
